Who, What, Why?
Enterprise uses of Immersive Environments and Virtual World technology for collaboration. As CTO of vComm Solutions and co-founder of Flying Island I'm particularly interested in the ways that collaborative 3D immersive environments might help bring dispersed teams together

Re: The Tyranny of Virtual Choice
by Anonymous
interesting, i would say that Linden Lab needs to make Second Life the best it can and let users do with it as they please. rather than try to decide if content is king, if more tools are needed, or what have you my contention is that Second Life is like Word. it is an application that some users will write best selling novels with, some will write ROI statements, and so on. our attention to things like mesh support is somewhat similar to being concerened with how macros are run in Word or how to bold a word concentrate on creating a robust tool and let users shape the output and like Word, there are now options - is OpenSim then OpenOffice? after all twitter does not decide what gets tweeted, it shapes it by limituing to 140 characters, but its success is driven by how widely it is adopted - the same thing Linden Lab should want for Second Life
